Who can apply for the title of Professional Engineer (PE) ?
- Category-I: RE who has passed EPE exam
- Category-II: Engineer not yet registered with PEC but obtained degree of Bachelor of Engineering prior to April 2005
- Category-III: Holding title of C.Eng or P.Eng of international recognized Professional bodies i.e. ECUK, ABET, Engineers Australia, BEM etc
Eligibility Criteria for the title of Professional Engineer PE:
Category-I:
Criteria:
- He/She must be graduated on or after March 2005
- Must be registered as R.E with PEC
- Has minimum five years of relevant professional experience after graduation
- He/She has passed EPE exam conducted by PEC
- Earned required 17 CPD points since August 2010 See details

- Submission of application through PEC online registration system
- Evidence of passing EPE
- Evidence of completion of 17 CPD points
- Experience sheet as per format available on PEC website
- Professional Competency Profile as per format available on PEC website
Category-II:
Criteria:
- He/She must be graduated prior to April 2005.
- He/She has acquired engineering qualification from Pakistani Engineering Universities/Institutes duly accredited with PEC
- Has minimum 10 years’ experience after graduation
- Earned required 17 CPD points since August 2010 See details
- Assessment by Subject Expert
- Interview before Enrollment Committee (through Video link or physical at PEC designated Offices)
Requirements:

- “Attested” Evidence of completion of 17 CPD points
- Evidence of completion of 17 CPD points
- Experience sheet as per format available on PEC website
- Professional Competency Profile as per format available on PEC website
Category-III:
Criteria:
- He/She must be graduated prior to April 2005.
- He/She has acquired engineering qualification from Pakistani Engineering Universities/Institutes duly accredited with PEC
- Has minimum 10 years’ experience after graduation

Mechanism for Assessment and Interview for award of PE title:
- After receipt of application, your academic and professional credentials will be evaluated. The authenticity and genuineness will be verified from the concerned university and professional bodies etc. Your application will be processed for assessment and you will be called for assessment/interview for title of PE
- Assessment interviews will normally last for between 30 and 45 minutes by minimum two members of panel of experts having not less than twenty years of Professional standing. You will be provided 5 to 10 minutes at the start of interview to give an uninterrupted verbal presentation about your professional competency. No presentation equipment will be allowed.
- You should use these 5-10 minutes to give brief overview on credentials meeting the criteria for professional engineer. The panel of experts will then question you in relation to the contents of your application, focusing on your area of expertise
- Panel of Experts/Enrolment Committee are bound by PEC and code of ethics to maintain confidentiality of assessment and information/data provided by you
- Your credentials will be assessed by Panel of Experts/Enrolment Committee. However, in case of commendable/acceptable professional work based on the submitted document’s assessment, the panel may grant waiver on the necessity of an interview. You will be notified accordingly.
- If you are required to attend an assessment interview, you will be asked to appear before panel of Expert/Enrolment Committee for interview assessment accordingly.
Fee structure for the title of PE:
Payment of RS. 5,500/- (Rupees five thousand and five hundred only) in favor of Pakistan Engineering Council.
