Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) is mandated under Section 2 of PEC Act 1976 to provide assistance to the Federal Government as a Think Tank

  1. Think Tank means a creative and innovative body to advise on engineering and national development plans.
  2. PEC constituted Think Tank Committee comprising of eminent engineers to assist in formulation of relevant policies relating to national development.

Contributions of Think Tank

  1. Development of Building Code of Pakistan Seismic Provisions-2007.
  2. Development of Building Code of Pakistan Energy Provisions-2013.
  3. Development of Building Code of Pakistan (Fire Safety Provisions-2016.
  4. Development of Pakistan Electric and Telecommunication Safety Code-2015.
