Live Webinar On Risk Allocation And Bankability In Construction Projects

Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) is earnestly working for the professional growth and skill enhancement of professionals and engineers, enabling them to perform efficiently during on-job assignments and handling emerging issues. In this connection, innovative training tools and techniques are being introduced to enhance the outreach and accessibility. Accordingly, PEC has planned a free Webinar-based technical session in collaboration with White & Case, a global law firm, on 18th March, 2019, 1000 to 1130 hours. The topic would be Risk Allocation and Bankability in Construction Projects

White & Case is an international Law firm, extending advise on developments in more than 90 countries, across 06 continents, including many of the world’s largest projects. Their experience covers all major sectors, including transport infrastructure (airports, ports, roads, rail and water), oil and gas, petrochemicals, process plants, power, mining and metals, and commercial property. They are ranked Band 1 – Global-wide for Construction and Band 1 – Global-wide for International Arbitration in the Chambers Global 2018 rankings.

The planning and procurement of projects require in-depth knowledge of relevant procurement strategies. The lack of understanding of procurement strategies and allocation of relevant risks may lead to claims, delays, disruption, performance issues and eventually dispute resolution.

In this session, Mr Ibaad Hakim, Associate and construction specialist from White & Case will provide an overview of risk allocation and key bankability issues that sponsors, developers, government and employers need to consider when developing their procurement strategy and negotiating construction contracts for major projects.

All interested mid-career engineers with min 5-years in profession can participate free in this technical session (0.5 CPD point) through either directly registering on the White & Case website by clicking here or through free pre-registration at PEC website (WCPEC.pec.org.pk).
